Threads, the messaging app owned by Meta, has added a new feature that allows users to share their custom feeds with others.
The process involves making the feed public, which can then be accessed by other users through a new ‘feeds’ tab on the creator’s profile.
Other users can then pin the shared feed to their homepage, enabling them to access the same curated content.
This new feature is in addition to previously announced plans to introduce ads to the Threads platform.
It seems that Threads is steadily diverging from its previous role as a experimental app for new features to a more mature platform, with the introduction of customised feeds and now ads.
This is part of Meta’s wider strategy to monetise its offerings through ads and subscriptions, as well as develop its metaverse ecosystem.
