Packy Falvey has released a new Hyperlegible episode discussing an essay by Parakeet, entitled Skittle Factory Dementia Monkey Titty Monetization, and interviewing its pseudonymous author
Falvey says that he saw the essay recommended by a number of his acquaintances on Twitter and Substack Notes, and that the discussion in the episode is “even more fun than the essay”
The essay discusses Parakeet’s concept of a “dementia personality”, whereby a person’s core beliefs and thought patterns shape who they are, and have the potential to define them if left unchecked
Parakeet, who is anonymized through a historical bird illustration, also discusses her writing process, her favourite authors, and her one “simple trick” for writing more often
