Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reportedly placed staffers within the US’ Federal Communications Commission (FCC), an agency that holds influence over resources that intersect with some of Musk’s private businesses.
Three staffers, including a finance executive, a former Waymo engineer and a lawyer, are currently listed on the FCC’s public directory, although it is unclear what their exact roles are.
The move seems to extend DOGE’s influence across US enforcement agencies, which may conflict with White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt’s previous claim that Musk would recuse himself from any potential conflicts of interest.
The FCC regulates and enforces operations across radio, TV, broadband and satellites, and thus holds information on rival companies to SpaceX.
