Trump’s proposed budget deals another big blow to science, clean energy, and the environment

Trump’s budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year includes cuts of $15 bn f orre n e w ab l ee n er g y an d t ec hn o l o g i es aim e d a t c a pt u r in g c a r b o n d i o x i d ee mi ss i o n s, a s w e ll a s n e a r l y$ 18bn from the National Institutes of Health and a 50% budget cut for the Environmental Protection Agency.
The proposal also contains what many are calling racist and anti-science wording.
It also continues the Trump/Musk trend of attempting to defang regulators and agencies, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and numerous environmental justice initiatives.
