After 9 Months in Space, Stranded NASA Astronauts Return Home

NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who had been stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) for nine months, have returned to Earth.
They returned with the members of the SpaceX Crew-9 mission, Nick Hague and Aleksandr Gorbunov, aboard the Dragon Freedom spacecraft.
The four astronauts landed off the coast of Florida and were taken to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, where they were reunited with their families.
Their stay in space was extended due to technical issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which was designed to transport crew to and from the ISS.
NASA and SpaceX worked to bring the astronauts home earlier than planned, which was originally scheduled for September 2024, after pressure from the administration of former President Donald Trump.
