The news that entrepreneur Paul Scellar is accumulating the Commodore brand has been welcomed by fans of the old computing company, but concerns have also been raised about the future of the brand.
Scellar has managed to locate the company through a paper trail of mergers and acquisitions since the 1990s, and has subsequently bought the rights to use the Commodore name on products.
He is now attempting to put together favourable deals for smaller players in the industry looking to make use of the Commodore name for new products.
However, there have been concerns about the future use of the Commodore brand, with worries that it could just end up on low-cost products of low quality, and that the brand could be damaged further.
Scellar’s Retro Recipes YouTube channel has more information on his ambitions for the Commodore brand.
