A new version of the open source circuit board design software KiCAD is due for release tomorrow, according to the project meditate.
The developers have made many incremental improvements, focusing on rough edges and general usability, turning KiCAD from a promising but slightly frustrating tool into a polished product, so much so that it puts many commercially available offerings to shame.
The improvements cover almost every aspect of the tool, from 3D rendering, through push and shove routing, to drill map generation.
Be sure to check it out and let the developers know what you think.
