A great way to carve pumpkins is using a water jet, which is cleaner and more precise, according to hacking website Instructables.
It stresses that while a water jet machine is needed, along with metal rods to mount the pumpkin in the machine’s working area, the actual carving is still fairly simple.
The user needs to create a vector file of their design and use software such as Scribe to generate the G-code to run the water jet.
While there are some inaccuracies, the results are still good enough for the majority of users.
Pumpkins should be cut at a speed of around 200in/min at a low pressure for the best results.
