You’ve Got All Year To Print This Marble Machine Ornament For Your Christmas Tree

Summary
Blogger Sean Hodgins has created a working marble machine Christmas ornament using a 3D printer and modelling software.
The machine is a transparent ornament containing a motor that spins a pinion, which turns a larger gear and lifts the steel balls using magnets embedded in the larger gear.
The balls are then dropped into a spiral which uses the force of gravity to move them around the inside of the ornament.
The USB-powered machine is intended to hang on a Christmas tree and has a satisfying sound as the balls move around.
The files for the machine are available on MakerWorld, and Hodgins has also posted a YouTube video of himself making it.
Some Hackaday readers have criticised Hodgins’ video style and the backwards baseball cap he wears indoors.
