KiCad has released its KiCad 9 upgrade, with multiple professional-level features for PCB design routing and layout.
This includes assigning net rules in the schematic, dragging multiple tracks at once, and removing soldermask from tracks and tenting from vias.
Additionally, the new version allows users to store fonts, 3D models and datasheets within KiCad files, while a Python API for the board editor and output job templates for standardised export settings have also been added, as well as further options for 3D exports.
Future releases will include delay matching, Git schematic and PCB integrations, PNG plot exports, improved diffpair routers and an autorouter preview.
