Addressable LEDs, like those using the WS2812B protocol, although cool, can be difficult to test and troubleshoot, especially if ‘lifted’ from other devices or LED strips.
A new device, produced by Gokux, simplifies the process, by sending test pulses to the LED to cycle through colours.
It also has a reference LED, allowing the user to see what the WS2812B should be doing, making it easier to troubleshoot.
The device is driven by a Xiao microcontroller, but could be adapted to work with any LED-compatible processor, and could be breadboarded using technologies like foil tape or pogo pins.
