Custom Frame Grabber Gets Vintage Kodak Digital Camera Back in the Game

Summary
Frost Sheridan has used a Teensy and a 128x160 LCD display to revive a Kodak MegaPlus 4.2i digital camera from the 1990s, with the help of the camera’s manual so he knew which pins of its 68-pin connector to use.
The camera requires a PC with a frame grabber card to function, so Frost created his own portable point-and-shoot system using the camera’s serial commands and 8 bits of its 10-bit parallel interface, and added an LCD display as a viewfinder.
With a battery pack the camera can now be used anywhere, although it does require some further work to make it fully portable.
Frost intends to add a colour filter wheel for different effects, and to make a more ergonomic case for the unit.
