Building a Nerf-like Rocket Launcher With Airburst Capability

Summary
Michael Pick has built an advanced Nerf rocket launcher which he has demonstrated in a video on YouTube.
The launcher fires rockets containing many small foam submunitions which scatter on target when the rocket’s doors open up in flight.
This is an improvement on the usual Nerf weaponry, which usually fires single darts or balls.
The launcher is made of 3D printed components and off-the-shelf pipe and is controlled by an Arduino Uno microcontroller, a Bluetooth module and a laser rangefinder.
The smart rocket determines the distance to the target and then releases its payload at the right time to hit the target.
The rocket is fired by strong elastic bands and uses an electronic servo motor to fire.
