Classy Paper Tape Reader Complements Homebrew Retrocomputer

Summary
Joshua Coleman has built a paper tape reader as a complement to his modular Coleman Z-80 computer, the design of which is echoed in the reader’s form.
electronics-wise, it’s based on David Hansel’s design for a paper tape reader, which in turn was intended to work with his Altair 8080 simulator; the reader also includes features such as an adjustable read head, 3D-printed reels created using parametric design, and a panel-mounted ammeter.
it has also been set up to function as a keyboard wedge, with an internal relay allowing the reader to bypass the system unless it is playing back a tape.
currently, tapes are created using a Python script to convert ASCII to SVG files for laser cutting, but it would be preferable to create a high-speed paper tape punch to increase efficiency.
