  • Switchers are more complex than they first appear, even down to the silicon components
  • Everything from the rectifier diodes to the switching transistors generates noise, much of it owing to switching speed and consequent transients
  • Slowing the transition between states and selecting transistors can reduce this noise, but it’s difficult to eliminate completely
