Jeremy Makes Things built a rope tow in his back yard using an old gas-powered snowblower motor to give his son the chance to ski after school, when the local ski hill lifts have closed.
The rope tow’s setup includes pulleys made from the back end of a razor scooter, with polyurethane poured around the old wheel hub to ensure the rope had something to grip onto.
While the contraption was useful, this is the second major rebuild the creator has had to perform, and frequent maintenance is evidently necessary.
However, the ingenuity of the build has allowed Jeremy’s son to zip back up the slope after each ski run.
Over the years, numerous inventors have attempted to solve the issue of gaining height with minimal effort when skiing or snowboarding, and we have covered many of them, including propeller backpacks.
