A new command-line interface (CLI) called WattWise has been created to enable power monitoring for smart plugs.
The open-source Python code can talk to TP-Link devices directly or through Home Assistant, and track power consumption via a simple graph.
Users can even throttle the CPU of their computer to leverage cheaper power during off-peak times.
Created by Naveen Kulandaivelu, the code is available on GitHub for users to install and adapt.
Since smart plugs aren’t the most accurate measurement tool, Kulandaivelu hopes the new CLI will help users to push the capabilities of their smart plugs further than ever before.
