Reverse Engineering the IBM PC110, One PCB at a Time
1 min read
Summary
An amateur tech enthusiast, Ahmad Byagowi, has reverse-engineered the motherboard and other circuit boards from an IBM PC110 to create open production-ready Gerbers to enable other fans to create spare parts for the vintage device.
The project is intended to not only keep the vintage device operational but also to understand and learn from the knowledge embedded in the machine.
Byagowi is soliciting help from other aficionados, especially with checking the newly-produced boards and in finding any further datasheets and documentation that might pertain to the PC110.
The project has already recreated the motherboard, power supply, modem, keyboard, and RAM module PCBs in KiCad and is seeking perfection with further iterations.
