After a difficult few years, the Philadelphia Maker Faire appears to be back on top form, according to a report in Hackaday.
The event has struggled to find its feet since its impressive debut in 2019, but after moving to a new venue this year, the Cherry Street Pier, it appears to have attracted both exhibitors and visitors in large numbers.
One exhibitor, Wasteworld Toys, which featured a range of handmade remote-controlled vehicles inspired by the Mad Max films, attracted particular attention for the way they combined art and electronics in a novel way.
There were also reports of a fire breaking out on a boat next to the exhibition space, which forced an hour-long evacuation, although this didn’t dampen spirits for long.
