The new Gemini Robotics system by Google uses AI to enable bi-arm robots to complete general instructions in response to their environment, making them more interactive and dexterous.
While robots may be able to perform tasks currently done by humans, they may never be able to truly “think outside the box” as humans can.
For example, robots will probably never carry out sexual reproduction or perform a task solely for enjoyment, as this would require them to make genuinely spontaneous decisions.
Instead, robots will probably always work within the parameters of their programming, making them great tools, but nothing more than that.
