They Hacked a Nuclear Power Plant! Whoops! Don’t Make a Sound!

Summary
In 2010 sound experts Ron and Bonnie Sauro discovered an unused auxiliary reactor building from a defunct nuclear power facility near Seattle, and decided to use the highly soundproof facility to set up their acoustics lab, NWAA Labs.
The lab is ideal for Ron Sauro’s work testing sound-dampening materials such as carpet, sound-cancelling headphones, and soundproofing materials for construction, as well as for testing noise produced by machines including domestic appliances and aircraft.
The lab has to meet stringent international standards on acoustic testing to ensure consistency of results, and is monitored to ensure a constant temperature and humidity level, as well as other factors.
Sauro is an obvious candidate for the hacker label, having described himself as a carpenter, plumber, welder and all-round DIY expert who can turn his hand to anything.
