A Technics stereo stack has been transformed into an impressive neo-retro PC case named ‘TechnicsPC’ in a BlueSky post.
The receiver includes two LCD screens, USB ports, a power switch, a card reader, and a DVD/CD drive, with the scrolling LED display atop the tuner module being the most nostalgic feature.
Following the motto “retro never sounded so good”, the user agreed that the only drawbacks were minor issues with the info delays.
More and more people are turning to vintage hi-fi equipment due to its authenticity, “built-like-a-tank” durability, warm sound, and unique appearance, with analogue amplifiers also making a comeback.
A similar project from 2020 turned a Panasonic RX- ZE551 receiver into a PC case, keeping the original speakers.
Vintage audio enthusiasts also make modern rips of their favourite old school tunes to get the best of both worlds, enjoying high-quality audio from retro equipment.
