A new webpage tool created by Andreas over at Splitbrain can generate clean, professional images of boards showing pinouts for documentation.
This helps to clearly show pins on boards for makers and those in the electronics industry, and makes life easier for technical writers.
The generator tool uses configuration files to create the images showing front and back of boards, numbering and spacing of pins, and names and attributes of each pin.
It automatically mirrors pin names on the rear image if the board is being mounted backwards, and the image created is an SVG that can be downloaded or printed for reference.
A related comment suggested enlarged PCBs could be helpful for aging eyes and could be made in a standardised format for some boards.
This could prove useful for demo boards or for those with less than perfect eyesight.
