Electric Catamaran Sails High Seas of Inland Canada
1 min read
Summary
Canadian maker, Phil, has created a solar electric catamaran for use on the inland waterways of Canada, such as the Trent Severn Waterway and Rideau Canal.
He modified a DIY catamaran boat plan to include an electric motor and several other features.
The boat is stable, with a small draft, and includes a retractable roof with mosquito netting, and a head inside one of the hulls.
This is not Phil’s first electric boat, his previous boat was a monohull with a solar panel canopy, however, it was unstable.
His new boat is ideal for peacefully exploring Canadian waterways, and he has documented the build process in a YouTube series.
Other examples of solar electric boats include an electric-assisted kayak and a solar electric houseboat.
