Summary

  • In the world of keyboards and typing, there are some really interesting innovations in the do-it-yourself community, some of which are highlighted in this week’s Hackaday publication, including:
  • a retrofitted Little Tikes rubber dome keyboard with mechanical switches added, which despite looking cute is reportedly not very functional;
  • Wings, a monoblock split keyboard with a screen in the middle, which features low-profile switches, lowered thumb clusters and an adjustable tenting;
  • A sandwich-inspired split keyboard, with extreme tenting;
  • A historically significant typewriter from the Victorian era, the Victor Index typewriter, which was the first to use a daisy wheel; and
  • finally, some exciting news for typewriter enthusiasts: a Christopher Latham Sholes bobblehead is going to be produced.
