Summary

-GNOME Boxes has provided an easy-to-use interface for spinning up VMs, and now KDE is joining the party with Karton, its own VM manager. -While very much a work in progress, Karton already enables the creation of VMs using QEMU, and running and displaying them in a desktop window. -It is part of the Google Summer of Code project, so eyes are peeled for further developments. -Using Karton and Boxes alongside their respective desktops is not essential; they can be used with any Linux desktop. -However, using these tools alongside their affiliated desktops offers advantages in terms of theming and integration. -Using a single graphical library, as Qt is, also has benefits in terms of reducing RAM and disk usage.
