Summary
A new info-stealing malware has been discovered by security researchers, called RL Stealer, that is being sold on hacking forums for as little as 49(£39)permonthor199 for a lifetime license.
It has been favoured by cybercriminals looking to steal gaming login details, with the malware tailoring its lure to popular online games including Minecraft, Roblox, and League of Legends.
RL Stealer works in a similar way to other info-stealing malware by scooping up saved usernames and passwords from web browsers, as well as stealing session cookies and files.
Its developers have also created a secondary malware strain calledasso known as “44Caliber,” designed to circumvent antivirus protections and used a RAM scraper to target gamers.
The malware has been actively developed since August 2022, with its creators regularly updating it to add new capabilities and targets.
