This article details the author’s experience taking Offensive Security’s OSWA (Offensive Security Wireless Analysis) exam, and provides tips for preparing for and passing the exam.
The exam is designed to test a candidate’s ability to perform a wireless penetration test and produce a professional report on their findings.
It is a 24-hour exam that requires the candidate to perform a real-world wireless pen test on an organization’s network infrastructure.
Tips for preparing for the exam include focusing on weak areas by utilising PortSwigger’s Web Security Academy lessons, revisiting labs that required external hints and practising realistic reporting habits early.
It is also noted that whilst everything in the course is fair game, OSWA exams may not be predictable, so candidates should not skip topics that they think will not be covered.
The key to success is building a unique web exploitation methodology and hand-on practice.
