How Each Pillar of the 1st Amendment is Under Attack

Summary
In his first few months back in office, President Trump has engaged in a number of actions that lawyers and watchdogs say are direct assaults on the five pillars of the First Amendment.
This week, the White House reportedly tried to covertly gather intelligence on a pending attack on Yemen, leaked sensitive information about a planned attack in Syria, sued two more media organizations and a lawyers’ association, and moved to further crack down on Jewish religious practices in America.
Trump also issued a memo that directs Justice and Homeland Security departments to seek sanctions against attorneys, law firms and experts who engage in litigation the administration deems frivolous or vexatious.
Two federal judges in two separate rulings this week froze parts of those plans.
