A security architect with the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has alleged that staff from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) transferred large amounts of sensitive data from the agency in March.
The accusations were made in an April 14 letter to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
Data was transferred at the same time as login attempts from a Russian Internet address that used valid credentials for a newly created DOGE user account.
The cover letter from Berulis’s whistleblower statement suggested that a DOGE SUV turned up at the NLRB HQ on March 3 and that acting CIO told staff not to adhere to standard operating procedure with the DOGE account creation, and no logs or records were to be made of the accounts.
The NLRB has been hobbled since President Trump fired three board members, which has thwarted efforts by Amazon and Musk’s SpaceX to sue the NLRB to have the agency’s existence declared unconstitutional.
