NordVPN’s new feature gets around networks that block VPNs

NordVPN has launched NordWhisper, a protocol based on web tunnel technology to help users get around networks that typically block VPN connections, such as airports, cafes and schools.
NordWhisper disguises VPN connections as regular traffic, making it harder for network administrators to recognise it as VPN encryption, with the drawback that it may work slower than traditional VPNs.
The protocol has been rolled out on Windows, Android and Linux, with support for other platforms to follow at a later date.
-NordVPN CTO Marijus Briedis said in a statement that it was not just about getting around network restrictions, but was “about empowering people to work, communicate, and access essential services securely and freely, even in the most restrictive environments”.
