Foreign Hackers Are Using Google’s Gemini in Attacks on the US

Iranian groups used the chatbots to generate phishing content in multiple languages, while Chinese groups used the platform for tactical research.
Iranian-linked cyber group Black Shadow has been revealed to have stolen the medical records of Israeli patients, which it published on the dark web.
The announcement comes in the wake of the WSJ reporting that Google is to axe the Trump-backed project to develop AI drone technology; and that Google, Amazon and Microsoft have consulted with the US military on providing AI to analyse drone footage.
Over in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office has fined rental deposit service My Deposit (£98,000) and property management company Central Whidborne (£192,000) for failing to protect tenants’ personal information.
And Nigeria’s government has cancelled a $1.5bn deal with SpaceX’s Starlink service due to no provision having been made for local content.
