US news has been dominated by the Trump administration’s controversial trade tariffs, which have impacted the economy, technology, and even penguins residency of the US and elsewhere.
However, on 18 March, the FBI raided the home of Xiaofeng Wang, a data privacy professor at Indiana University, and apparently also terminated his employment the same day.
Anxiety has been fueled further about the whereabouts of Wang and his wife, Nianli Ma, after they disappeared, with the home and workplace of the pair subsequently wiped from the university’s website.
An investigation by the wired.com discovered that the university had been probing Wang over undisclosed research funding from China before his dismissal.
Meanwhile, far-right activist Laura Loomer allegedly successfully lobbied for the sacking of the director of the National Security Agency.
The activist had allegedly pointed the finger of blame for his appointment by Mark Miley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who had allegedly called Trump “fascist to the core” in a book by Bob Woodward.
