Summary
Google has announced the launch of its latest phone, the Pixel 9A, which will be available from April, but the specs have already been widely leaked.
The smartphone markets’ budget phones are becoming increasingly competitive, with the Pixel 9A offering a larger 6.3-inch screen with increased brightness, a Tensor G4 processor, and better water resistance, and it starts at $499.
The missing camera bump on the back of the phone has been replaced by a flush-fitting housing, and the phone is a few millimetres shorter and lighter than its predecessor, the 8A.
The 9A offers a 48-megapixel rear camera and 13-megapixel ultrawide camera, along with a macro mode that uses the main sensor, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a battery capacity of 5,100mAh.
Google’s OS upgrades and security support will appeal to those looking for long-lasting devices.
