Audio-Technica’s R2-D2 earbuds play beeps and bloops for audio alerts

Audio-Technica has announced four new limited-edition Star Wars-themed versions of its ATH-CKS50TW wireless earbuds ahead of Star Wars Celebration Japan next month.
The new versions, based on Darth Vader, the Mandalorian, Baby Yoda, and R2-D2, feature new colours and details themed to each character, plus custom audio alerts that play different star-wars related sound effects when different functions are activated or turned off.
The limited-edition earbuds can be pre-ordered from April 21st and cost $179 in s t e a d o f t h es t an d a r d$ 149, with an expected release on May 4th, 2025.
They offer up to 40 hours of battery life with ANC turned on and feature a magnetic switch that automatically powers the earbuds off when attached to each other with magnets.
