Swedish synth company Teenage Engineering has released a major software upgrade for its EP-133 KO II synthesizer.
The OS 2.0 update can be downloaded through a web browser or installed using a USB cable.
It includes a range of new features, including the ability to createnew samples using existing sounds, and layering and playing more sounds simultaneously.
The KO II’s new hands-free sampling mode lets users record sounds from instruments that require two hands to play, without needing to press record or stop on the synth.
Other upgrades include an increased number of sounds that can be played simultaneously and a new song mode that lets users chain scenes and create longer track arrangements.
The EP-133 KO II synthesizer was launched in late 2023 and originally sold for $299.
