Summary
Gaming hardware company 8BitDo has released a new arcade controller which is slimmer than the previous version, thanks to the removal of the joystick in favour of only buttons.
The arcade controller, which is available in two styles – one for Xbox and one for Nintendo Switch and PC – features a button layout which can be swapped using a dial.
The Xbox version lacks bluetooth functionality, offering 2.4GHz or USB connectivity only, while the battery is larger at 3,000mAh, giving wireless play time of 20 hours with lighting on, or 40 with it off.
Four face buttons on the Xbox version can be programmed, and the controller supports the company’s Ultimate Software which allows for button customisations and complex macros.
The controller available for pre-order now with a release date of 15 July, with the Xbox version costing 99.99andtheSwitchversion89.99.
