Nintendo has revealed its mysterious new device, long-teased as the “next Switch”, is actually an alarm clock.
Named Alarmo, the $99 device can snooze with motion control and features displays of various Nintendo characters, waking users to related franchise sound effects.
It is available to purchase by subscription holders now, but Nintendo has not ruled out a mass launch in the future.
Meanwhile, hackers have taken control of the device, with one modder managing to get a version of Doom running on it.
Nintendo has also revealed early prototypes of the Alarmo, showing its evolution from a gray, box-like device to the rounded red model released today.
