Insta360’s new gimbal add-on brings subject tracking to any camera app

Summary
Insta360 has launched an add-on for its Flow 2 Pro smartphone gimbal that adds subject tracking to any camera, streaming or phone app, circumventing the need for a dedicated tracking API from Android or Apple.
The AI Tracker module allows gesture control of tracking, and also works as an LED fill light with colour temperature adjustments.
It draws all its power from the gimbal, negating the need for a battery, and is available now for 40oraspartofabundlewiththeFlow2Profor180, which reduces the cost of the add-on to around $20.
The new add-on parallels a similar facility announced today by DJI for its Osmo Mobile 7 Pro gimbal, which also adds tracking to non-proprietary apps, and cuts battery life from 10 hours to five.
