Summary
Humane, a US-based start-up that developed the AI Pin wearable device, sold most of the company to HP for $116m, after the gadget failed to gain popularity following its launch in April 2024.
The Pin will no longer connect to Humane’s servers after 28 February, and many of its features will be deactivated because of this.
The device’s creators, Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, will join HP to create a new division for integrating AI into personal computers, printers and connected conference rooms.
Chaudhri was formerly the head of industrial design at Apple until he left in 2016.
Bongiorno was previously the head of new initiatives at Salesforce.
