Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro are the first to deliver on Qualcomm’s promise of Wi-Fi earbuds

Xiaomi has released its Buds 5 Pro wireless earbuds in Europe, introducing audio streaming via Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi chip.
There are two iterations of the buds, one that exclusively uses Bluetooth and another that also incorporates Qualcomm’s XPAN technology, which delivers a higher quality, lossless audio experience over Wi-Fi.
TheWi-Fi variants have a longer battery life than the Bluetooth-only version and will work with Xiaomi’s 15 and 15 Ultra phones, but limitations in the hardware mean they can only ever be used with devices that have a compatible Qualcomm flagship chipset, such as the 8 Gen 3 or 8 Elite; this limitation means iPhones are excluded.
The earbuds have a 10-hour battery life (with 40 hours including the charging case) and offer features such as active noise cancellation, call recording, transcription and translation.
