Summary
LG has launched its Artcool AI Air air conditioner, which features improved energy efficiency and the ability to direct airflow towards occupants based on room layout and where people are situated.
The device uses mmWave radar sensing technology, with sensitivity sufficient to detect breathing rate, enabling it to differentiate between a person and other moving objects, such as plants.
Previous Artcool air conditioners were camouflaged with an LCD screen on which photos or artwork could be displayed.
The new design has a black mirror finish and a multi-line grille structure on its front outlet for softened airflow.
Temperature sensors detect when a window is opened and adjust to an energy-saving mode, while users can also monitor power usage via the LG ThinQ app.
