Smart home company SwitchBot is reportedly preparing to launch a new Matter-enabled smart hub, the SwitchBot Hub 3, according to a recent listing on the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) website.
The forthcoming device has a display, like SwitchBot’s $70 Hub 2, and adds physical controls, including a knob.
According to the CSA listing, the hub’s knob can be used to adjust smart thermostat temperatures or media volume, and is compatible with Apple TV, Spotify, and other streaming services.
Other advertised features include motion-detecting capabilities that turn on the display to show indoor temperature and humidity, third-party weather forecasts, and “real-time status updates for door locks.”
The listing also shows the SwitchBot Hub 3 supports SwitchBot’s Bluetooth-connected smart devices, and voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant.
