Lego has revealed that it is to produce a range of Pokemon-themed kits, in a deal that will see it release sets based on the franchise in 2026.
While specific kits have not yet been revealed, the company has published marketing material showing the famous Pokemon character Pikachu, inbuilt out of Lego bricks, alongside text stating “Pokemon is coming soon”.
It follows Lego’s announcement in January 2023 that it will release a buildable Nintendo Game Boy kit from October 2025.
The Pokemon franchise first appeared on the Game Boy platform in 1996.
It is not known whether Lego has secured exclusive rights to produce Pokemon building sets, as US company Mattel already produces Pokemon building kits that feature Lego-compatible components.
