China, which is also vying for top spot in the AI race, has taken a “proactive approach” to modernising its grid and enhancing its energy distribution, which could put the US at an AI disadvantage.
The administration has said that losing the AI race to China is a bigger issue than global warming, and has instead encouraged the use of fossil fuels, which experts say won’t be sufficient to meet rising demand.
