After months of user complaints, Anthropic debuts new $200/month AI plan

AI firm Anthropic has introduced a new subscription tier for its Claude AI assistant called Claude Max, aimed at appeasing customers who have been hitting rate limits on existing tiers.
The new plan offers expanded usage limits, with two price points - $100 an d$ 200 per month, respectively offering 5x and 20x the usage of Anthropic’s $20 per month Claude Pro plan.
Many Anthropic users have been hitting the limits on even the highest existing tier over the past year, meaning the new plan is likely to appeal to current customers as well as attracting new ones.
Anthropic sees the new upper tier as providing Maximum Flexibility, targeting daily users who collaborate frequently with Claude for most tasks.
The larger context window of Claude, which allows it to tackle more complex projects, has also been limiting for some users who have needed to include long conversations or multiple reference documents, leading to quick filling of usage limits.
