Microsoft has now re-introduced Recall in a Windows 11 Build, saying the new version requires users to opt-in to the saving of snapshots of their activity, and they can pause the saving of these snapshots at any time.
The new version of Recall only works on devices with Copilot+ capability, which has AI capabilities that can search the content of screenshots and allow users to find content via description.
While Microsoft appear to have made changes to make Recall morepalatable, critics point out that there is no need for the feature, and it simply introduces new risk factors and vulnerabilities that do not exist in current operating systems.
