How to Use Repair Mode to Protect Your Data During Repairs in Android
1 min read
Summary
Android Repair Mode enables users to hide personal information before sending their device in for repair.
The mode is similar to safe mode on a Windows computer, allowing access to necessary troubleshooting functions and isolating photos, videos and other personal data.
To enable Repair Mode, users should ensure they have set a PIN or pattern lock screen password, and have at least 10% storage space free.
Once in Repair Mode, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, phone calls and mobile data will still be available, so users should remove their SIM card before sending the device for repair.
To disable Repair Mode, users can follow the same steps and click ‘Disable Repair Mode’ on the phone.
Alternatively, they can do this from their phone’s Notification Drawer, making it easier to exit Repair Mode.
