Summary

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at 79.99. An Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and adds a set of vehicles, weapons, apparel and other content tied to the story of Jason and Lucia. Rockstar describes the game as a single-player experience set in Vice City. Pre-loading and the physical box Rockstar said players who pre-order digital versions “will be able to begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026 to ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19, 2026.” That gives digital buyers a seven-day window to download the game before it unlocks. The physical version comes as a download code inside the box. Rockstar said it will be available from 12 November 2026 “to support pre-loading”, the same date digital pre-loading begins. The press release does not mention a disc. The press release gives no file size for the game. Pre-order bonuses All pre-orders and purchases made before 20 November 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack, which Rockstar describes as “a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest”. Digital pre-orders also come with a free month of GTA+, which Rockstar says will be “the best way to get the most out of the ever-evolving world of GTA Online”. Rockstar said the GTA+ month is “instantly redeemable”, so players can jump into Grand Theft Auto V and other classic Rockstar titles in the GTA+ Games Library. The game will be sold through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and other retailers and storefronts. Rockstar’s story summary says Jason and Lucia “have always known the deck is stacked against them” and that “when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida”. The summary adds that the pair are “forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive”. Rockstar says the Grand Theft Auto series has shipped more than 470 million units worldwide across its history, and Take-Two lists the series alongside NBA 2K as a product the company depends on in its forward-looking statements. Grand Theft Auto VI is not yet rated. Sources:
