Summary
Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition on 29 October 2026 at 99.99 in the US, $10 more than a standard Pro Controller, according to Polygon. A carrying case with a screen protector costs 3,980 yen in Japan. In Japan the console is sold only as the Japanese-language system, Nintendo said. The US listing gives the system 256GB of internal storage, expandable with microSD Express cards, and a 7.9-inch 1080p screen. Connected to a TV through the included dock, compatible games run at up to 4K resolution, with frame rates capped at 60 fps for 4K output. The Joy-Con 2 controllers attach magnetically and offer mouse controls in compatible games. Sold out twice Preorders opened in early September and sold out almost immediately, Polygon reported. On 29 October Nintendo put fresh stock on its own online store, and the listing showed the console as out of stock shortly after the company announced the restock, with stock going in and out of availability as the site took the traffic. “Just like last time, the console is already sold out,” Polygon’s Michael McWhertor wrote. The Pro Controller showed as sold out, and Polygon found no fresh stock of the carrying case. Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart also appeared to be sold out of the console on 29 October, according to Polygon. Sources:
